Availability of LAPACK

Both repositories provide electronic mail and anonymous ftp service (the netlib@ornl.gov cite is available via anonymous ftp to netlib2.cs.utk.edu), and the netlib@ornl.gov cite additionally provides xnetlib . Xnetlib uses an X Windows graphical user interface and a socket-based connection between the user's machine and the xnetlib server machine to process software requests. The complete package, including test code and timing programs in four different Fortran data types, constitutes some 735,000 lines of Fortran source and comments.

Alternatively, if a user does not have internet access, the complete package can be obtained on magnetic media from NAG for a cost-covering handling charge.
