participating, (12 vendors, 11 labs, 13 univ, 2 comp)

Organization is similar to HPF Forum.

ARPA/NSF funding for academic travel
EC funding for some travel
Implementation on IBM, Intel, Cray, Meiko, as well as the definition in PVM and p4.
