NHSE Software Review Framework
The high level NHSE software review policy defines three review levels:
-
The software has not yet been reviewed by the NHSE in any way. This
classification is for unreviewed software available on an ``as is'' basis.
-
The software has undergone a review to check conformance with the NHSE
guidelines. Checking will be done by maintainers of discipline-oriented
repositories who do some level of evaluation as part of their repository
development efforts or by NHSE librarians.
-
The software has been reviewed by an expert in the appropriate field such as
the author of an article in the NHSE Review electronic journal which
began publication in mid 1996. The NHSE Review presents articles
written by experts that review and compare software for particular areas of
HPCC. Where appropriate, reviews by others will be linked to and/or noted
Because of differences between disciplines, the evaluation
criteria will need
to evolve to meet different requirements.
