The Performance Database service
uses the public-domain RDB
relational
DBMS developed by Walter Hobbs of Rand Corporation.
RDB tables are stored as regular UNIX ASCII files and thus
can be manipulated by the normal UNIX utilities.
The RDB tables for UT/ORNL Performance Database are stored
in the performance library in the Netlib tree.
The performance-query, performance-or-search,
and performance-and-search services invoked from
nlrexecd carry out searches on the RDB tables.
