The Gist Performance Analyzer

Gist is a performance analysis tool based on event logging. It gives
programmers insight into the dynamic behavior of their programs,
and is useful both as a performance analysis tool and as a debugging
tool.

Gist is currently available through Kendall Square Research for users
of their machines and from BBN for Butterfly machine users. Custom
versions of Gist are available for real time and embedded systems
programmers. BBN is currently developing an implementation of
Gist suitable for workstation application developers.
