CCP5 is a collaborative computational project for computer simulation of
condensed phases. The UK has a large and successful community engaged
this research. CCP5 plays a key role in achieving communication across this
large community. The Project has a high international profile; approximately
75 % of the large membership (currently around 600 members) is overseas.
The work of CCP5 is done in a number of ways. There are carefully chosen
collaborative projects involving two Daresbury scientists (Drs. Smith and
Leslie). The flagship project is the development of a molecular dynamics
code DL_POLY for the simulation of ionic, polymeric and macromolecular
systems on parallel computers and workstations.
