abstract

The code sets up geometric relationships between nodes and node
boundaries in block type domain decomposition for 2D grids periodic in both
dimensions. The code computes the node numbers for the 4 nodes which are
the nearest neighbors of the current node and establishes the boundaries of
each node's region in the physical space. This can be used as input into a
communications routine for block type domain decomposition on 2D periodic
grids. The code is easily extended to three spatial dimensions.
