BLACS -- Advanced Topics

• The topology parameter allows the user to vary the cost per process of the messages involved in a distributed (broadcast or combine) operation. There are two main classes of topologies:

  • Pipelining topologies (ring-based),
  • Non-pipelining topologies (tree-based).
