This is the fourth conference on the subject organized by Portuguese and Spanish mathematicians. The others were held in Coimbra, Portugal in 1982 and 1984 and in Vitoria, Spain in 1983. This time, a special emphasis will be given to the applications of Linear Algebra to Linear and Nonlinear Systems Theory, Control and Signal Processing.
