Subject: Honorary degree for Gear
Bill Gear was awarded an honorary degree today from the Royal Institute
of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Bill was recognized for his work
on the numerical solution of stiff ode's. As many of you know, the Institute
is the fountainhead of ode's. In his spare time, Bill has been president of
SIAM, chairman of his department and managing editor of SISSC. Congratulations,
Bill.
