HiQ is Interactive Math HiQ is an interactive problem-solving environment for Macintosh and Power Macintosh where you organize, visualize, and document real-world math, science, and engineering problems. HiQ solves real-world problems using a methodology that combines an engineering worksheet environment, interactive analysis, data visualization, an extensive math library, and a programming language called HiQ- Script. HiQ Software Architecture HiQ has two different levels for numerical analysis and data visualization problem solving - an interactive level and a programmatic level. At the interactive level, you set up and solve problems such as ordinary differential equations, numerical integration, and systems of nonlinear equations. The interactive tools include a Data Editor, 2D and 3D Graph Editors, and the HiQ Problem Solvers. You solve problems interactively with the HiQ Problem Solvers. First, you input your functions and set the parameters for your problem in the Problem Solver GUI. Then, you run it to obtain solutions without programming. The Problem Solvers use vector and matrix data defined in the spreadsheet-like Data Editor. In addition, the Problem Solvers create 2D and 3D graphs and also generate HiQ-Script programs. If you need to solve a custom application or one that involves one or more of the scripts generated from the Problem Solvers, you can can use the HiQ-Script programming language. Use HiQ-Script to link data, graphs, text, Problem Solver script, and the more than 600 analysis and data visualization built-in functions at the programming level.
