You can select the type of output you would like to see in xmagic's display window or on a file by clicking on one of the options in boxes labelled "tty output:" and "file output:". Output formats can be set to none No matrices are printed, although the final statistics are still sent to the display window. This is the default for both tty and file out- put. pretty Matrices are printed in human-readable form. Each matrix is followed by an assignment of values falsifying the "bad guy" if there is one. ugly Matrices are printed in a standard machine read- able form with -1 as break character. No head- ings, comments, etc., are included. summary Only the numbers of matrices are printed. This is useful for checking the size of a job before getting a printout of matrices. It runs faster than "pretty" or "ugly" If either "pretty", or "ugly", or "summary" are selected for the "file output:" the "file name:" dialog becomes active. You can enter new file name in the dialog window and inform MaGIC about the change of file name by clicking on the "change" button. MaGIC will not take notice of the change until it is asked to do so! If you run MaGIC on a remote host, the file will be created on that host.
