Communication Performance
Bisection bandwidth on MPPs
Measure of how integrated the system is.
Bisection width: the number of communication links severed to partition the network in two independent networks of the same size (roughly).
Bisection bandwidth is the product of the bisection width and the point-to-point bandwidth.
Bandwidth defines the worst- case performance of algorithms on a particular network, since it is related to the cost of moving data from one side of the system to the other.
