The second PVM Users' Group Meeting will be held May 19th and 20th,
1994, at the Garden Plaza Hotel, Oak Ridge, TN. The meeting
will provide an opportunity for users of PVM to meet each other,
share ideas and experiences, and meet the members of the PVM Team.
The conference will include:
* Invited talks by: Norris Parker Smith
Bill Shelton, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
Marco Annaratone, DEC
Giorgio Richelli, IBM
Vaidy Sunderam, Emory University
* Contributed papers from the PVM user community.
* Technical presentations by the developers of PVM.
(Including a feedback session on future directions and features)
* Vendor presentations on supported PVM products.
* Social activities.
There will be Conference Registration/Reception Wednesday evening
from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the conference hotel.
The registration desk opens at 7:30 AM on Thursday
and the Future Directions session ends at 4:00 PM Friday.
Consider Staying over the weekend - visit the Smoky Mountains
- then attend the Scalable High Performance Computing Conference (SHPCC)
in Knoxville Monday thru Wednesday May 23-25.

Call For Papers/Posters
We invited everyone with PVM ideas or experiences to submit abstracts
of papers and posters for possible presentation at the Users' Group meeting.
Topics can include:
Use of PVM in real-world applications
Software tools built on top of PVM
Experiences using PVM
Programming environments
Benchmarking
Extentions built onto PVM
Any topic of interest to the PVM community
Abstracts should be approximately 300 words in length.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is April 22, 1994. Abstracts
will be reviewed and authors notified of their acceptance by
April 30. Please submit abstracts to:

The registration fee for the meeting is $50, and includes the Wednesday
reception, Thursday's banquet, break refreshments, and a PVM t-shirt.

HOTEL REGISTRATION
A limited number of rooms have been blocked out for the PVM meeting.
Be sure to make your room reservations early to get the special rate.
Rooms will be held until 6:00 PM unless guaranteed with an
accepted credit card. Check-in time is after 3PM. Check-out time is noon.
Reservation requests must be made before April 25, 1994.
After this date, reservations will be based upon room and rate availability.
Cancellations made after 6:00 PM of check-in day will be billed one night's
room and tax.

TRANSPORTATION
There is airport shuttle service between the Knoxville airport and
the Garden Plaza Hotel as well as taxi service.
There are also several rental car companies at the airport.
The Garden Plaza Hotel is about 40 minutes by car from the Knoxville airport.
