PARKBENCH COMPACT APPLICATION BENCHMARKS
At the time of writing it is expected that the second release of the
PARKBENCH suite will be available. This will include
a small number of compact applications (see below).
Other compact applications
are under consideration for inclusion in the suite.
Ultimately it is intended that
the codes in the compact applications suite should be representative of the
fields in which parallel
computers are actually used. The codes should exercise a number of different
algorithms, and possess different communication and I/O characteristics.
We expect the compact applications suite to grow in the future to include
no more than a dozen codes.
This restriction is imposed so that
the resources needed to manage and distribute the suite can be assessed. The
suite may be enlarged further in the future if this seems manageable.
