The aim of the IFORS Developing Countries Online Resources page is to

"Operational Research" (OR) is the discipline of applying advanced
analytical methods to help make better decisions. By using techniques
such as problem structuring methods and mathematical modelling to
analyze complex situations, Operational Research gives executives the
power to make more effective decisions and build more productive
systems.


The International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS;
http://ifors.org/) is an almost 60-year old organization which is
currently composed of 51 national societies. Regional Groups of IFORS
are: ALIO (The Latin American Ibero Association on Operations
Research), APORS (The Association of Asian-Pacific Operational
Research Societies), EURO (The Association of European Operational
Research Societies), NORAM (The Association of North American
Operations Research Societies). IFORS conferences are taking place

A three year research position at the postdoc-level is available at
the Institute of Analysis and Algebra at the TU Braunschweig in the
group of Prof. Lorenz. The position is to be filled as soon as
possible.

The successful candidate will work in the project "Model-based damage
analysis" within the Research Unit FOR3022 "Ultrasonic Monitoring of
Fibre Metal Laminates Using Integrated Sensors'' funded by the
DFG. The project in concerned with the inverse problem of damage
identification in fibre metal laminates by guided waves.

A strong background in numerical analysis is required, preferably
numerical method for partial differential equations. Knowledge in
inverse problems is a plus.

The base salary for the position if according to of the TVL E13 pay
scale.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must - at the date of recruitment -
have obtained a PhD degree in mathematics, computational engineering
or computer science with a focus on scientific computing; Candidates
must have very good knowledge of English - knowledge of German is a
plus but not a must; Candidates should have programming skills in
MATLAB, Python, Julia or a comparable language. Experience with
finite-element software is a plus.

in Graz (Austria) offers a position as a Research Assistant (f/m/d)
working in the FWF project 32911 entitled "Multiphysical Shape
Optimization of Electrical Machines" (principal investigators: Peter
Gangl, TU Graz, and Kevin Sturm, TU Wien).

The position can be filled by either a PhD student (75% position for a
duration of 3.5 years) or a post-doctoral researcher (100% position
for a duration of 2 years).


The successful candidate will be working on efficient numerical
methods for the simulation and shape optimization of a transient
multiphysical problem as it occurs in electrical machines.

I am looking for candidates with strong mathematical and computations
skills to work on theoretical and algorithmic projects at the
interface between optimization and machine learning.

The research will be carried out at the Institut of Analysis and
Algebra in the Department of Mathematics at TU Braunschweig. The TU
Braunschweig offers an excellent research environment and the PhD
salaries are commensurate to international standards, according to
Marie Curie actions.

have obtained the MSc degree entitling you to embark on a doctorate;

Although this year's Copper Mountain Conference on Iterative Methods
(CMCIM) was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemia, the traditional
Special Section of SIAM Journal on ScientificComputing is still
planned. The section will be dedicated to recent progress in
iterative methods. Submissions are encouraged in all aspects of
iterative methods, including this year's highlighted topics:
Asynchronous iterative solvers; Eigenvalue and singular value methods

is required; however, due to total size restrictions, papers longer
than 25 pages will not be considered for publication in the special
section.

through June 15, 2020. Papers will be subject to review by a guest
Editorial Board comprising the current CMCIM scientific committee
members plus other guest editors to be confirmed. Between these dates,
