Subject: New software package bvpsuite2.0

We are happy to announce the release of a new version of our MATLAB
software package bvpsuite2.0 (Release January 2020).

bvpsuite2.0 provides routines for the solution of arbitrary mixed
order multipoint boundary value problems in ordinary differential
equations in an implicit formulation.

Features include boundary value problems in ODEs, eigenvalue problems
for differential operators, differential-algebraic equations of index
1, path-following for turning point problems.

The problems may be posed on finite or semi-infinite intervals and the
differential operator may depend on unknown parameters.

The package is published under the Berkeley Software Distribution
license and is freely available from
https://www.asc.tuwien.ac.at/~ewa/software_development5.htm

highlight an outstanding career such as Chris's, its genuine
interdisciplinary approach to applied mathematics and as such will
serve as an exemplar for how innovation and impact in mathematics can
be achieved.

Abstract submissions are now open for the British Early Career
Mathematicians Colloquium (BECMC) (formerly BYMC). Registration will
open shortly.

The BECMC will be held on the 1st-2nd April 2020 at the University of
Birmingham. This will be a two-day event aimed at PhD students and
early career mathematicians. It offers participants a valuable
opportunity to network with others in their field, gain an insight
into the active areas of research in a wide range of mathematical
disciplines, and give a talk in a relaxed and friendly environment.
(For more details, please visit
http://web.mat.bham.ac.uk/BYMC/BECMC20/).

The committee recognises that the standard of access at academic
conferences across the UK is largely unacceptable. Our team are
working to improve this within their capabilities, both for this BECMC
2020 and for future conferences. Please see our website for full
details about the accessibility at the conference.

For any questions or concerns, please email the committee on

Subject: Deadline Extension PDSEC, USA, May 2020

The deadline for papers to be submitted to the 21st IEEE International
Workshop on Parallel and Distributed Scientific and Engineering
Computing (PDSEC-20) has been extended to February 14, 2020. See
http://cse.stfx.ca/~pdsec20/ . It will be held on May 22, 2020 in New
Orleans in conjunction with IPDPS 2020.

Deadline: PDSEC-20 deadline (extended): 14 Feb 2020 (AoE)

Scope and Interests: The technological trends in HPC system evolution
indicates an increasing burden placed on application developers due to
the management of the unprecedented complexity levels of hardware and
its associated performance characteristics. Many existing scientific
applications codes are unlikely to perform well on future systems
without major modifications or even complete rewrites. In the future,
it will be necessary to utilize, in concert, many characteristics such
as multiple levels of parallelism, many lightweight cores, complex
memory hierarchies, novel I/O technology, power capping, system-wide
temporal/spatial performance heterogeneity and reliability concerns.
The parallel and distributed computing community has developed new
programming models, algorithms, libraries and tools to meet these
challenges in order to accommodate productive code development and
effective system use. However, the scientific application community
still needs to identify the benefit through practical evaluations.
Thus, the focus of this workshop is on methodologies and experiences
used in scientific and engineering applications and algorithms to
achieve sustainable code development for better productivity,
application performance and reliability.
